In the Style of Walt Whitman

The wistful organization puts fostering a gentle ennui
at the top of the agenda. Everyone commits themselves
to doing a little less and being a little bit sadder--
An action plan is created after much discussion;
It passes down through the organization from section head
to manager to employee.
Each takes the message to heart. I watch the team player
tearing up at his desk. I watch as his officemates
console him with embraces and kind wishes.
